Linkou Pure Land Buddha Hall

Szu-Wei Lee

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Linkou Pure Land Buddha Hall by Szu-Wei Lee This Buddha hall offers adherents a space to share teachings, to chant scriptures, and to undergo mindful meditation, holding belief of rebirth in a Pure Land through faith, aspiration, and practice. The space suffuses an airy, tranquil, and primitive ambiance, away from the sense of claustrophobic, despite being situated in a basement. Light penetrates, and the hollow-patterned walls blend with bamboo windows, infusing a refreshing botanical feel. Wood tones, concrete elements, and skylight effect complement the solemn hall, reflecting the 'Buddha's light shine’ in the scripture.
